Life 21,000 years ago
Step back in time! Objects and remains discovered in the cave provide fascinating insight into the daily life of human societies in the time of Lascaux.
Lascaux, The International Exhibition
A new tour starts in 2027.
From 2013 to 2024, the Lascaux exhibition traveled to 20 destinations worldwide. In 2025, for the first time in its history, the exhibition returns with a major innovation: the facsimile of an entire chamber of the cave, the Hall of the Bulls.
A universal heritage
Conceived in 2010, the Lascaux exhibition is based on its facsimiles, exact replicas of the walls and paintings of the original cave, produced at the Périgord Facsimile Workshop. Mobile and demountable, they enable as many people as possible, the world over, to discover the masterpieces of the Lascaux cave.
Located in Montignac, in France’s Périgord region, Lascaux Cave is a timeless universal masterpiece, a world-renowned prehistoric site inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
The new Lascaux exhibition
Discover a new immersive experience inside the facsimile of the legendary Hall of the Bulls.
The first chamber of the cave, the first chamber to be discovered, and home to the largest painted work of prehistoric art—often referred to as the “Sistine Chapel of Prehistory”—the Hall of the Bulls is a unique site in the history of prehistory.
The visitor experience
Universal, immersive and interactive, the exhibition is aimed at all visitors, especially young visitors and families.
